Synopsis
Very few recognize the name of St. Dismas, even though he the first saint to be canonized

by Christ, and the only saint to be canonized while he was alive.. Nearly two-thousand years

later, the first church to be built inside prison walls, the maximum security Clinton Correctional

Facility at Dannemora, N.Y. , is The Church of the Good Thief, dedicated to the patron saint of

prisoners, Dismas. Even though the Church was completed in 1939,there has never been a

documentary that told the amazing history of how the church came about until now.

The Church of the Good Thief is truly like no others, and this is the story.
